MOUNTAINFEST 2001 WELCOMES
GRAMMY-WINNING MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST
ROY CLARK

The tradition continues at The Merritt Mountain Music Festival July 19 –22 with our Sunday night legend series featuring the legendary Roy Clark. Roy is one of the great entertainers in the world. A master of all stringed instruments, he also plays trumpet, trombone and piano. He’s a singer of simple love ballads and rousing country rockers. His brand of humor is infectious. He is difficult to categorize. Is he a singer, a comedian or an instrumentalist? The answer is that he’s all and more … a great entertainer.

Roy Clark hosted America’s most popular weekly syndicated television show "Hee Haw" for 20 years. "Hee Haw" is carried on over 200 television stations and viewed by 30 million people weekly. Roy’s talent for acting goes back to the mid-60's when he frequently appeared on the popular "Beverly Hillbillies" television series which has lead to many acting parts on both episodic television and in motion pictures.

Through the years, Roy has recorded a string of hits including "The Tips of My Fingers," "Honeymoon Feeling," "Yesterday When I Was Young" and his own 12 string version

of "Malaguena." Roy has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career such as Entertainer of the Year by the Academy of Country Music Association, Comedy Act of the Year by the Academy of Country Music, Best Country Guitarist by Guitar Magazine, Country Music Banjo Championship and so much more.

Roy is an avid sportsman. Together with his wife Barbara they breed and race thoroughbred horses. Their home is in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and their ranch is located in northeast Oklahoma. A pilot for years, Roy flies his Mitsubishi Diamond 1A jet to most of his engagements.

Don’t miss the stellar line-up Leann Rimes, Lonestar, Bryan White, The Wilkinsons, Dr. Hook featuring Ray Sawyer, Jason McCoy, Tim Rushlow (former lead singer of Little Texas) and many more.
